Shakhtar Donetsk's commercial director Dmytro Kyrylenko has confirmed the information that his club aim to play their home European Cup matches next season in Gelsenkirchen, at Schalke's local stadium, Feltins-Arena.
"We are indeed in a state of negotiation with Schalke to play home matches in the European competitions for the 2024/25 season in Gelsenkirchen. "Schalke are conducting a survey among their fans on this topic at our request in order to better understand their interest and mood.
We are as close as possible to an agreement with Schalke, but we are also considering other options. We will make a final decision in this matter by the end of April," UA-Football quoted Kirilenko as saying.
