Oleg Fedorchuk: "Rotan will have a problem to mould a combat-ready team for the Olympics"

Famous Ukrainian coach Oleg Fedorchuk shared his thoughts on whether clubs will let Ukrainian national teams go to the Olympics.

- The confrontation between clubs and national teams has always existed. As soon as the national teams have a not-so-important match, clubs come up with various reasons not to let their players go. We saw this, for example, in the match against Japan, where Shakhtar did not release two players (Bondarenko and Kryskiv), citing their injuries. Also, the Olympics, with all due respect, is inferior in football terms to the World Cup or European Championships.

Therefore, there will be many such refuseniks, and Ruslan Rotan will really have a problem in moulding a combat-ready team. In the end, our team has few chances at this Olympics. We will do nothing against Argentina. Morocco is very strong. Our clubs see that it is problematic to capitalise on their player's participation in the Olympics, and the risk of injury is high. That is why they prefer not to let their players join this team," the expert said.
