"Manchester City want to keep Rodri Hernandez at the club for the rest of his career. In recent seasons, the Spain international has become a key player for the club and the country, and the Citizens' management highly values his role.

His current contract with the Citizens expires in 2027, but City are looking to sign the 27-year-old to an even bigger deal. They are ready to offer the midfielder a substantial pay rise as part of the new negotiations. Under these terms, his salary will increase from £180k per week to around £300k, making him one of the highest paid players at the club.

The champions will want to keep him until at least 2030. Negotiations are not expected to start before the end of this season, in which City are still fighting for trophies in the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League after a phenomenal treble last season.
