Former Dynamo Kyiv and Ukraine national team striker Artem Milevskiy recalled the reaction of his national teammates after his penalty kick in the 2006 World Cup 1/8 final against Switzerland.
"Sheva did not say anything then. He looked at me so much that I understood everything. Voronin then said: "You realise that your head would have been ripped off if you hadn't scored." I said: "Well, shit, that's if I hadn't scored". In general, then everyone was happy and looked at me like some kind of a jerk," Milevskiy said on Telescope.
