On Saturday, 13 April, the programme of the 24th round of the Ukrainian championship started. Dynamo Kyiv also played their match. Oleksandr Shovkovskiy's team met Oleksandriya away.

The match started quite briskly - both teams took a good pace from the start, and the first moment arose near the gates of Kyiv already in the second minute of the match: after a shot from the left flank into the centre of the penalty area, Kulakov lacked a meter to close his partner's pass.
"A few minutes later Dynamo responded with a hundred per cent goal. Shaparenko gave a great pass on the corner of the goalkeeper's box to free Voloshyn, but Nazar's shot was deflected by keeper Shevchenko. Further Dynamo completely seized the initiative, forcing Oleksandriya to play more on the counterattacks. In one of them Kovalets too demonstratively fell in the penalty area of the Bilo-Syni for which he received a deserved warning.
In the 33rd minute the match was interrupted for more than an hour due to an air raid. Most likely, such a long pause was not good for our team, otherwise how else can you explain two yellow cards in a row, which Voloshin managed to get? In the 43rd minute Nazar received the first card for dangerous play, and in the 45th minute - the second also for a foul. Delegation. Obviously, Dynamo coaching staff had to seriously change the game plans for the second half.
After the break, Oleksandriya, thanks to the numerical advantage, began to play first number one. It was not easy for Dynamo to organise attacks, as the hosts acted very compact, trying to "cover" the opponent at once. Nevertheless, Shovkovskiy's charges created one good moment - after a long pass to Vanat Shevchenko was forced to go far out of the gate to kick the ball out, but he kicked it straight to Shaparenko, who immediately tried to dribble the ball into the empty net, but the goalkeeper managed to play reliably here as well.
Then again there was an aerial alarm and another stoppage of the match, but now the forced pause lasted less than an hour. And on the 64th minute Dynamo managed a wonderful counterattack: Brazhko took the ball from Kravchenko and passed it to Shaparenko in Oleksandriya's penalty area. The defender managed to clear the ball - but directly to Brazhko, who shot under the crossbar! After watching the video replay of the episode, the main referee of the match Derevinsky defended the goal - 0:1!
The hosts immediately rushed to get back, and missed another counterattack of Kyiv: Shaparenko received a pass on the flank and passed to the goalkeeper's box, where Vanat outpaced the defender and shot between Shevchenko's legs. It seemed to be 0:2, but a little earlier Shaparenko was caught offside. Therefore, the score remained the same.
In the remaining half an hour Oleksandriya went almost the whole team to attack to get a draw, but Dynamo defenders and especially Buschan played perfectly, not giving the opponent any chance for a positive result. As a result - a hard but deserved victory of Oleksandr Shovkovskiy's team!
Dynamo will play their next match in the Ukrainian Championship on Wednesday, 17 April. In Kyiv at the Dynamo stadium named after Valeriy Lobanovskiy there will be an underplayed match of the 16th round of the UPL, in which the Bilo-Syni will meet with Minai.
We shall remind you that the match "Minai" - "Dynamo" was supposed to take place on 3 December 2023, but due to the long air alert all over Ukraine, which started soon after the referee gave the starting whistle, the match delegate decided to postpone the game. This decision is also due to the lack of possibility to finish the game in daylight conditions, as there is no artificial lighting at the Minai stadium. As a result, the teams will play the game in Kyiv.
