An interesting episode occurred in the reported match of the 1/4 final of the Conference League, in which French Lille and English Aston Villa met.

The main time of the match ended with the score 2:1. Thus, the total score was equal and the game went into extra time, and then - in a penalty shootout.

During the penalty shootout, the goalkeeper of the Argentina national team and Birmingham club Emiliano Martinez again committed unsportsmanlike behaviour. He received a warning for constantly provoking opponents and talking, which was the second for him in this match (the first yellow card the Argentine received in the first half for delay of game).

However, according to the new rule from 2020, yellow cards are reset before the penalty shootout. Therefore, Martinez was not suspended and helped his team to a 4-2 victory by parrying two penalties.
