Dario Drudi: "Polesie will adopt many things from Leipzig, Salzburg, Bayer. The team should have the spirit of a champion"

Acting sports director of Polesya Dario Drudi expressed his opinion on which European teams the Zhytomyr club will be orientated to.

"There are many good examples, but I don't want us to be a copy of some project. I want us to have our own distinctive feature. But a lot of things we will adopt from teams like Leipzig, Salzburg, Xabi Alonso's Bayer. A lot of things we will take from there, but still leaving our identity and uniqueness.

The president said: "I want us to create a champion team, I want us to win the league."
And I saw that the president wants not just to create a champion team, but for it to have that spirit of a champion, the champion gene. So that every player knows that he must constantly improve his qualities, constantly develop - there is no other way.

Yes, it's very hard. It's really very hard. But being a champion is not just about winning a trophy, you have to create this champion's gene, this mentality, so that everyone who comes here understands: I am part of a big club, which is moving towards something bigger," Drudi said in an interview with the Polesie press service.
