Dynamo midfielder Andriy Yarmolenko spoke about the last game against Polissia, commented on the team's recent results and shared his expectations for the upcoming match against Dnipro-1 in the Ukrainian championship.
- The mood is always great after a win. Moreover, we defeated Polissia confidently and, in my opinion, played well. The training session was more of a recovery session, we are preparing for the next game.
- Volodymyr Brazhko has returned to training, what does this mean for the team?
- We have about 25 players in the team, and everyone is ready to play. Of course, Volodymyr Brazhko has become an important player for Dynamo this season, so his return to the team is only a plus for us.
- How can you assess the year 2024, in particular the spring part of the season, in terms of team play and results?
- It is difficult to analyse all the games so far, because there were both good and bad matches. If we want to be champions, we can't lose points in matches like the one at home with LNZ, when we were doing well, leading 1-0 and controlling the game, but ended up drawing 1-1, and the one with Veres, when we lost in the last minutes. At the end of the season, these points may not be enough for us.
- After returning to Dynamo, you haven't played in Dnipro yet, what are your memories of matches in this city?
- Of course, the atmosphere that used to be at the stadiums and the one now is different, but what can you do? Our job is to go out and play football, no matter what.
- Every time you go out on the pitch, the fans support you, do you feel it?
- Of course, I feel their support. That's why I came back home. I also love and respect them, so I will continue to give all the strength I have to give joy to our fans.
- It is said that the game against Polissia was exemplary in terms of cohesion in defence and attack, do you agree?
- It's hard to say whether it was the best game, maybe it's still ahead, or it was before Polissia. But it is a fact that we played well both in attack and defence. And this applies not only to the attacking or defensive players, but to the whole team, because everyone attacked and defended well. Especially against such an opponent as Polissia, which I consider a strong team. In addition, we had a good incentive to take revenge after the defeat away in the first round.
- What should we expect from the next match against Dnipro-1?
- It will probably be a tough game, both for us and for them. We have our own tasks, they have theirs. Our matches have never been easy for anyone, so, again, we expect a serious game. But now we treat every match like a final. We are well aware that if we lose points somewhere else, we can forget about the championship.
