Yevhen Pavliuk: "Vorskla doesn't live for the Ukrainian Cup final with Shakhtar, no one has "scored" for the championship

Vorskla Poltava's centre-back Yevhen Pavliuk commented on his team's recent setbacks and shared his expectations for the Ukrainian Cup final against Shakhtar Donetsk.

Yevhen Pavliuk

- Is Vorskla preparing for the Ukrainian Cup final against Shakhtar through the league?

- No, no. The team moves from match to match. No one is "scoring" on the championship.

- But Vorskla cannot win the last three matches...

- This is a combination of certain circumstances. We played Kryvbas after the semi-final - the third game in a week with the same team. With Shakhtar, we played a lot of time on the power play, but it didn't come to a goal. With Kolos, I was involved in one of the goals. It has nothing to do with the Cup.

The coaching staff constantly sets us up for a good game, to win every match. We do not live for the final, but for the next game.

- You missed the 2020 Ukrainian Cup final. Do the guys who played in the previous two share their experience with the youngsters?

- In 2020, Yurii Maksymov did not include me in the application because I was very young at the time, although I was also taken to the semi-final with Mariupol. Our coach Serhii Mykolaiovych Dolganskyi tells me a lot of useful things about that unique experience. Vova Chesnakov has two finals under his belt.

Oleksandr Karpenko.
