Journalist Leon ten Voorde has commented on the information leaked to the Dutch media that Feyenoord management plans to invite current Shakhtar manager Marino Pusic, who previously worked at the Rotterdam club as an assistant to Arne Slot, to become the team's head coach.
"I'm a little surprised [to learn that Pusic is one of the key candidates to replace Slot at Feyenoord]. We have seen Pušić as head coach here at Twente for some time. First of all: he did well as an assistant coach and the players liked it too, you also heard that at Feyenoord this role suited him very well. "When Pušić became head coach he changed, but not in a good way.
"He had already completely annoyed them at the club [ Twente] in December. His behaviour towards people changed, he couldn't handle the pressure at all and got stressed. The players didn't like it at all. Because Twente were on the verge of collapse, they thought: we'll keep him in the saddle and on the pitch, and at the end of the season we'll say goodbye to him."
"[Mats] Wiffer will never say it, but he is one of the players that Puszic neglected. If Wiffer is very honest and you want to ask him about it, I know what the answer will be," FCUpdate.nl quoted the journalist as saying, citing the TC/Tubantia podcast.
