Manchester United's new co-owner has labelled the state of Old Trafford and the Carrington base a "disgrace"

Manchester United co-owner Jim Ratcliffe was unhappy with the order at the stadium and training ground.

The businessman visited Old Trafford and the Carrington training ground this week and was very unhappy with the disorder there. Some things he labelled as disgraceful.

"I had a good glorious visit to Carrington and Old Trafford this week. As always, I felt very welcome. Thank you. I had a good tour of some of the facilities.

Alas, I was struck by the high degree of unprofessionalism in many places. Particularly the IT department, disgraceful, frankly. In addition, the U-18 and U-21 teams' locker rooms are not much better. Such standards are nowhere near what we expect to see at Ineos. IU is an elite sporting organisation.

It's a small thing in many ways, but an organisation will not succeed if it lacks standards and discipline," the Daily Mail quoted Ratcliffe as saying, citing a letter the businessman sent to the club's staff.
