The problem with the coaching position at Bayern Munich has forced the management to turn to the Spaniard Julen Lopetegui, who has been particularly popular in the European market in recent weeks, Sky Germany TV reports.
The Bild newspaper confirmed that the Spanish specialist is high on the German giants' list after Bayer Leverkusen's Xabi Alonso, Germany's Julian Nagelsmann and Austria's Ralf Rangnick turned down offers.
The 57-year-old Spaniard last coached English Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers, but resigned in August.
