The legend of Ukrainian football and current director of Karpaty Stepan Yurchyshyn commented on the Lviv club's entry into the UPL.
- As for the critics, yes, they are right. I also did not like a lot of things in the actions of our players. There were great matches, but there were also disastrous ones. But we had a task and we fulfilled it. What should we do in the UPL? Only strengthening. I understand this, Myron Markevych understands this, and our fans and club owners understand this. There is time to strengthen each position with one or two players. We are already working in this direction.
We do not want to be a member of the UPL. Our goal is the European Cups. Our fans, and I have known them for decades, will forgive everything except the lack of maximum performance on the pitch. Therefore, the main task now is not only to strengthen the team with quality performers, but also to instil in them the psychology of a demanding Carpathian fan. There must be a fight to the end, regardless of the opponent and the scoreline. We now have to play against Dynamo, Shakhtar, Dnipro-1 and so on. This is a serious challenge, and we don't want to be just extras in these games. And I hope we won't be," said Yurchyshyn.
