The head coach of Dynamo Kyiv, Oleksandr Shovkovskyi, commented on the 5-0 victory over Kolos in the match of the 27th round of the Ukrainian championship.
Alexander Shovkovsky- What did you say to the boys during the break?
- Firstly, I want to congratulate everyone on the bright holiday of Easter - a great day for Christians around the world. Secondly, I have to thank our defenders, because thanks to them we can celebrate and play football matches. I congratulate everyone and wish for peace on our land as soon as possible, so that we can end this war with our unconditional victory and return to normal life in our country. Although we are well aware that life will be completely different, and the country will be completely different.
We understood the mood of the teams coming out to play against Dynamo Kyiv. It always happens, and at the end of the championship our opponents are even more motivated. And we understood that our only goal could completely change the situation. In principle, it happened. Kolos played quite well in the first half. We made some adjustments during the break. We said that we needed to switch on the speed, change the direction of the attacks, change the flanks to make the opponent more tired. And then individual skill at the free kick, in the final stage - something we lacked before the break, when we had chances but lacked composure. And we played more calmly in the second half, and I am satisfied with the team's actions in the second half.
- Can you say that the execution was perfect today?
- You know, football can be completely unpredictable. You can take no shots on goal and win. Or you can take a lot of shots and not score.
- Did the change of coach at Kolos help you?
- Yesterday I went to watch the U-19 game on purpose. Because that's exactly what we saw today. I was basically ready for it. We analysed the opponent, we were preparing. Perhaps in the first half we were still adjusting, but I am grateful to my guys for their patience. Yes, we definitely want to win every episode. But we play against teams that set themselves the same goals and want to win. And it's not easy, but we go our own way and look only to the future.
