Dynamo Kyiv midfielder Andriy Yarmolenko denied the information that he is going to finish his professional career immediately after Euro-2024 and also assessed his current playing and physical conditions.
- There was information that after Euro-2024 you are supposedly going to finish your professional career....
- So far I have no such plans. So I do not know where such information came from. When I feel that I have no desire, no health, then I will finish. But for now I don't even think about it. Now I enjoy every game, every training. Every day I wake up and wait for training just like I did when I was 20 years old.
- Do you have any thoughts of breaking Shatskikh's scorer's record in Ukrainian championships?
- No. I don`t think about any records: the most important thing is to become champions.
- How difficult is it for you to play 90 minutes now?
- If the coaching staff entrusted me to play 90 minutes (in the match of the 27th round of the Ukrainian championship with "Kolos" - editor's note), then, probably, my readiness allows it. The coaches know better from the outside. I work at training sessions to the maximum, in matches I also try to give my best. I am glad that finally I managed to play all 90 minutes.
- In the match with "Kolos" in the absence of Vanatas, you and Buyalskiy played as two "false nines"?
- Probably, it seemed to you that it was so: I played as a pure striker. But this is not a new position for me: I played a lot in this capacity at Dynamo when I was young, and for West Ham, and for the national team too - in Kyiv match with Croatia, for example. When you have experience, you understand how to play on the left and on the right, under the striker and in attack. It is not a problem for me.
