Literally: "Under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor General's Office, a well-known businessman suspected of legalising fraudulently obtained property was served a notice of suspicion of committing another crime related to the organisation of a contract killing (part 4 of Article 27, part 2 of Article 15, subpara. 11, 12, part 2 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code)."

Details: According to the UP source, it is Kolomoisky.

According to the investigation, the oligarch ordered the murder of the director of a law firm in revenge for "failure to comply with the requirements for cancellation and invalidation of decisions of the general meeting of shareholders of an open joint-stock company".

The police claim that Kolomoisky had a personal commercial interest in the operation of the steel plant, and the decision of the general meeting of shareholders did not allow him to fully implement his plan to make money.

Therefore, he threatened the lawyer of the law firm that participated in the general meeting and prepared the legal documentation to cancel the decision. The oligarch received a refusal, so he decided to take revenge.

To execute the order, Kolomoisky, through his bodyguard, engaged members of a gang that "specialised" in physical violence against competitors.

According to the National Police, the attack took place in August 2003 in the centre of Feodosia. Then four men struck the victim on the head with a metal rod and stabbed him in the chest, stomach and back. The victim's wife prevented the perpetrators from killing him, and doctors managed to save his life.

A few days later, the perpetrators of the crime were detained and later sentenced to imprisonment for terms ranging from 6 to 12 years.

The investigation into the murder's mastermind was separated into a separate proceeding. It was only on 8 May 2024 that Kolomoisky was notified of being suspected.

Attempted premeditated murder committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy is punishable by imprisonment for up to 15 years or life imprisonment.

In addition, 23 searches are being conducted in four regions of the country as part of this proceeding.

Kolomoisky is already in custody in connection with another case.
