Oleh Fedorchuk: "Leonenko is our George Best, and Milevsky is our Paul Gascoigne"

Famous Ukrainian coach Oleh Fedorchuk expressed his opinion on former Dynamo Kyiv forwards Viktor Leonenko and Artem Milevsky.

"Leonenko was a footballer who made a difference and could decide the outcome of a match. Milevsky is inferior to him in this regard. Artem is bright, but he has never been a leader on the field. Leonenko was the best footballer in Ukraine for two (with a stretch of three) seasons. Milevsky has never been like that.

Another difference between them is that Leonenko's career was shortened by Dynamo's management (they wouldn't let him go, overpriced him, etc.), while Milevsky shortened it for himself by his violations of the regime.

If Leonenko had been released from Dynamo, he could easily have played in Europe, in the same Kaiserslautern that was interested in him. I don't even remember anyone being seriously interested in Milevsky. Leonenko's career is still a bit of a mystery, after all, he hasn't played many games.

But both Leonenko and Milevsky left a big mark on Ukrainian football. They have also become a good example for young players, so that they do not repeat their mistakes. Leonenko is our George Best, and Milevsky is our Paul Gascoigne," Fedorchuk said.

Ну и сравнения! Беста и Гаскойна помнит весь футбольный мир не как пьяниц, а как суперзвёзд.
