Former FIFA referee Miroslav Stupar has spoken out about the match between Shakhtar and Dynamo in the 28th round of the Ukrainian Premier League.

There are also questions about the episode with Sudakov and Popov, in which Shakhtar's player received a warning for simulation. I wonder if the referee had watched this moment on the VAR, would he have given a penalty? At the same time, the VAR referee also missed this moment, although it was not so clear.
We can't say that the referee made a mistake in Shakhtar's favour, that Dynamo lost because of the officiating, but we need to stop the practice of appointing referees by blind draw, especially for key matches. After all, it is possible to be appointed to referee a match in which countrymen will play, and this will put additional pressure on the referee not to make a mistake in favour of his "own" (Oleksiy Derevynskyi from Kyiv - ed.). There should be no conflict of interest in refereeing.
"Shakhtar had a better first half. They would have been happy with a draw. Both teams had the desire, but Shakhtar won. Dynamo has a pattern of play. Despite the fact that Kyiv has young players and they will add more next year, they have a reserve. Perhaps they will buy someone, but Kyiv already look good. We expect progress for the next championship," Stupar said.
