According to The Athletic, UEFA will ask teams at the 2024 European Championship to ensure that their captain is the only player who speaks to the referee to get an explanation of key decisions.

This measure is designed to help teams understand why and how decisions were made by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) and to prevent multiple players from surrounding the referee. Players who do not comply with this rule and approach the referee "showing any sign of disrespect or disagreement" will receive yellow cards.
