The22-year-old winger Yevhen Ryazantsev, a graduate of Dynamo Kyiv, who is now one of the leaders of Metalist Kyiv, shared his memories of his football career.
- You started your career at Dynamo Kyiv. How did it go?
- It was a bit of a funny story. I was studying at gymnasium No. 318 in Kyiv and read an announcement about the selection of children for the Dynamo Academy. At the age of six, I called and introduced myself. I was told when and where to come.
I came home and practically forced my father to take me to the screening. I came to the selection and among many children I was among a small number of those who were selected for Dynamo.
- Which of the stars did you train with at Dynamo?
- I played with Vladyslav Vanat, Ilya Zabarnyi, Volodymyr Brazhko, Kostiantyn Vivcharenko, Ruslan Neshcheret...
- Who was your number one player at Dynamo in 2002?
- At that time, Zabarnyi stood out the most. He was always big and had speed. Such defenders are always worth their weight in gold. Zabarnyi was also famous for his thinking. He never made unnecessary touches to the ball.
- Why did you choose to go to the then second-league Metal rather than try to fight at Dynamo?
- The option with Metal appeared, and I decided to give it a try. It seemed better to go to the second league than to stay in the U-19. I talked to my mum and dad and made the move.
