Mourinho: "I invited Modric when no one believed he was up to Real Madrid's level"

Former Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho considers midfielder Luka Modric to be his proudest coaching achievement.

"Luka Modric is the beauty of football. He is my pride because I brought him to Real Madrid when no one believed he was up to the level of Real Madrid. And how many years later? 12, 13, 14 years? He is still playing there, so he is my pride," Football Talk quoted the Portuguese as saying.

It will be recalled that Modric has been playing for Real Madrid since 2012, when he joined the Bianconeri from Tottenham.
