- The game and the tactical scheme were influenced by the fact that the match did not solve anything. But we had a task to win and please our fans with the game. Moreover, the period of preparation of the national team of Ukraine for Euro 2024 is now beginning. I talked to head coach Serhii Rebrov, and then decided: today's game was played by our national team, and after that I will not involve them in preparing for the next match in the Ukrainian championship. They will have a rest and then prepare for Euro 2024.
Therefore, we had almost a combat team, but we changed the tactical scheme. We managed to create a lot of chances, and in the first half we could have scored more, even four goals. I think this is a positive moment for us.
- Yarmolenko and Shaparenko were injured. What can you say about their condition?
- I managed to talk to the doctors, they say that there is nothing too complicated. But anything can happen in football. Yarmolenko has a severe bruise, he could hardly breathe. Brazhko also has a bruise. Shaparenko asked for a substitute because his leg was bothering him a bit. It's a difficult season, so the guys need to rest to be ready for Euro 2024.
- What is your opinion on the refereeing? Yurii Vernydub was very unhappy with it.
- As for the penalty: the violation was in the penalty area. And if the referee whistles a foul, he has to give a penalty. It's hard for me to say whether there was a foul or not. As far as I understood, the linesman told him at that moment.
I know Yuriy Mykolayovych well, I know his mood, I know how eagerly he prepares his teams. He always wants to win, and I understand him perfectly.
