Christian Bilovar: "I couldn't get into the best shape - only at the end of the season I manage to do something"

Dynamo Kyiv defender Kristian Bilovar shared his impressions of his team's 3-1 victory over Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih in the 29th round of the Ukrainian championship.

Christian Bilovar

- Christian, how do you like the atmosphere at today's match?

- At every home game, the fans create an incredible atmosphere. As I understand it, the fans buy the maximum number of tickets allowed for each match, so many thanks to them for attending the matches.

- Today, Dynamo played with three central defenders. How long have you been practising this formation for, and how unusual is it for you personally?

- It's not new to me, because last season, when I played in Cyprus, I played in a team that used this particular formation. Now we have been working on this scheme in the training process and, as for a game against such a difficult opponent, we showed a pretty good game, since it was the first time we played with it.

- In this tactic, how much do your personal functions change?

- We play much more from the centre backs, we can say we start attacks, as there are fewer players in the centre of the pitch.

- You came on the pitch after a long break. What were your emotions?

- Only positive ones. I will continue to work hard to get more playing time next season. I hope that injuries will be avoided, because in the second part of the season I was unlucky - first I got sick, then my head was broken. I couldn't get up to the optimum condition - only at the end of the season I manage to do something.

- Is it a shame that you got fit at the end of the season?

- No, it's not. I know that I give my best in training. If I continue to do so, I hope the coaching staff will trust me next season and I will have more playing time.

- The last match of the season is ahead. What are your plans, what's next?

- We are still preparing for this match. I think after it, we will be told everything about the holidays and pre-season training. For now, all my thoughts are about Rukh. As far as I know, this doesn't apply only to the national team players, who get a holiday after the match against Kryvbas.
