Guardiola: "I am closer to leaving Manchester City than staying"

Manchester City head coach Josep Guardiola has hinted that next season could be his last at the club.

"After that season with the final in Istanbul, I said to myself: "This is the end, I'm completely exhausted". But I have a contract and I'm still here. In some moments I felt a bit tired, but in other moments I loved what I was doing and we were winning matches. Then I started thinking about something that no one had ever done before: four titles in a row - the FA Cup. Gary Lineker told me that no team had ever won the Premier League with the FA Cup two times in a row.

Right now, I don't know exactly what my motivation is, because it's hard to find it when you've done such a great thing. But I know the players and I know myself, and when we come out here, we say: "Why not try to win today? Why not do the best we can to do what we need to do?" And I know we're going to try.

The reality is that I am closer to leaving than staying. I've talked to the club about it - my feeling is that right now I want to stay. I will stay next season, and during the next season we will talk. But I didn't expect to stay in this team for eight or nine seasons," said Josep Guardiola.
