Roberto Morales, a well-known Ukrainian journalist and commentator, shared his expectations from the Europa League final between Italian side Atalanta and Bayer Leverkusen in Dublin today.
"The final is extremely interesting, because both participants in this match can surprise.
"Atalanta has been suffering from a fever until relatively recently, but now Gian Piero Gasperini's men are in a good mood. In the last nine matches in all competitions, the Bergamaschi have suffered only one defeat, though it happened in the cup final, when Juventus of Turin won 1-0. "Atalanta has already qualified for the Champions League. In general, its season can be called a season of contradictions, but it has the opportunity to end it with a unique historical victory. Not only do the Italian fans believe in it, but Jürgen Klopp expressed his absolute admiration for it.
The current Bayer is a phenomenon, a revelation, a major football newsmaker. The Leverkusen team, which had been mocked for two decades and nicknamed "Neverkusen", suddenly had a historic season, did not suffer a single defeat in the Bundesliga, and in fact never lost in any of the tournaments, turning into "Neverlusen". Xabi Alonso's men have two finals left - this one and the German Cup against Kaiserslautern, a representative of the second division.
The bet is on Bayer to win and the total number of goals scored to be more than two," Morales said.
