A new world record has been set for the longest penalty shootout (VIDEO)

A new world record for the longest penalty shootout was set in Israel the other day.

Teams "Dimona" and "Shimshon" in the semi-final play-off match for the exit to the second league of Israel failed to find a winner either in regular or extra time (2:2) and the fate of the meeting was decided in a penalty shootout. However, the opponents had to take a total of 56 shots from the spot to finally end the game. As a result, Dimona won with the score 23:22 on penalties.

Such a long series of penalty kicks became a new world record. The previous similar achievement was set in March 2022, when in England "Washington" and "Bedlington" made 54 strikes from the "point" in a penalty shootout in the match of the regional cup tournament.

Тут даже более интересен другой момент, а именно: "зелёные" на протяжении серии 5 (пять!) раз не забили решающий выигрышный пенальти. А последний ними не забитый 56-ой пенальти стал для них проигрышным.
