The victory was won rather unexpectedly by United. Even in the first half, Erik ten Hague's men scored twice: Garnacho and Meinu scored with accurate strikes. "City managed to pull one goal back only a few minutes before the final whistle, but Josep Guardiola's side ran out of time for more.
As a result, Manchester United becomes the new winner of the trophy. Interestingly, the victory in the FA Cup final allowed United to qualify for the Europa League next season, as the club was left out of the European Cup zone.
