Myroslav Stupar: "It turned out that even with the BAC, the result depends on the human factor"

Miroslav Stupar, a well-known referee in the past, commented on the upcoming changes to the rules of the VAR.

- The changes are needed because there is growing dissatisfaction with the current VAR system in the football world. The first signal was given by the Swedes, who refused to use the video replay system. The indignation spread among the clubs of the English Championship. Team coaches and players hoped that the VAR system would prevent referees from influencing the outcome of the game. In fact, it turned out that the outcome still depends on the human factor, as video assistants do not always tell the referees on the field that they need to review a particular episode.

The VAR system is not cheap, it is transported in vans from one city to another. After the innovation, one monitor will be enough for the judge to watch the episode in video replay. And the judging team will be significantly reduced," Stupar said.
