Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has revealed what he thinks about his prospects of playing in the Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund in the context of competing against Ukrainian Andriy Lunin.

"I feel much better now than I did in March. Both physically and mentally. My first match after my return (Courtois was injured last year, after which he recovered for a long time - ed.), against Cadiz, I did not play the best way, but perhaps it was to be expected, because before that I did not play for nine months. But in the following matches everything was fine.

I'm 100% ready. And the head coach knows that. Now he will decide who to play in the Champions League final - me or Lunin. If I was not ready, I would have told the coach about it. So if he releases me, I will be fully ready. And if he does not release me, I will be the first to help the team if necessary.

As for the final itself, of course we want to win. But we must respect Borussia. This is a team that has shown that it is strong both in defence and in attack. It knows how to defend when it needs to, and it's difficult for them to score. The final is always 50-50, everything is possible," Courtois said in a commentary for RTL Sports.
