English side Newcastle have set their sights on Burnley goalkeeper James Trafford, the Daily Mail reports.
According to a source, the Magpies' bosses are satisfied with the performance of their main keeper Nick Pope, but they are looking to sign another goalkeeper to compete with Pope. Initially, the Magpies considered Aaron Ramsdale, but Arsenal want £30m for their backup goalkeeper. The Newcastle officials do not like this price, so they plan to lure James Trafford to their side.
It should be added that Chelsea are actively interested in Trafford. Last summer, Burnley bought Trafford for £15m from Manchester City.
