The president of Kharkiv-based Metalist 1925, Vladimir Nosov, has made a statement following the season in which his team left the Premier League.
- "Now we are going through a difficult but at the same time very important moment in the history of Metalist 1925. Unfortunately, the results of the season forced us to leave the UPL and move to the First League. We are not satisfied with this result, but it is quite objective and understandable, because our team did not have time to implement all our plans. The result on the pitch is in line with our current position.
We have a lot of work to do. We need to analyse the mistakes of the season and correct the shortcomings. I want to emphasise that as an investor and president, I continue to support the club. The transition to the first league will not affect funding and support in any way. On the contrary, the team and I will do everything to ensure that Kharkiv football continues to develop.
Our main task for the next season will be to strengthen and return to the UPL. We plan to improve the football component, add professionalism, complete operational processes and update the structure, resolve issues related to infrastructure to return to the Premier League stronger, more stable and better.
We will pay special attention to working with transfers, strengthening scouting and developing young talent. We have this year and we intend to make the most of it.
Thank you all for your support and faith in Metalist 1925, especially our Kharkiv fans! We are confident that together with you we will return to the Premier League even stronger!" Nosov was quoted as saying on the club's website.
