According to journalist Gaston Edul on his Twitter page, the squad will include legendary Benfica centre-back Nicolas Otamendi and Manchester City forward Julian Alvarez. The Argentine Football Association has already received permission from their clubs.

The Olympic team's coaching staff, led by Javier Mascherano, chose Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez as the third player over 23 years old. However, they have not yet received permission from the English club. In addition, Argentina is awaiting a response from Chelsea and Manchester United regarding Enzo Fernandez and Alejandro Garnacho, who are eligible to participate in the tournament due to their age.

At the 2024 Olympics, Argentina will play in a group with Ukraine, Iraq and Morocco.
