Ukraine's national team midfielder Oleksandr Zinchenko spoke about the team's preparations for the European Championship.
"I came to the UNITED24 summit because the initiative is two years old, and I met a lot of people. Of course, I miss Ukraine very much. Every time I come here, I have some special emotions. I am very happy to go with the team from Kyiv. When I was walking around the station, I told the guys that the last time I was here was 11 years ago. It's good to be back in those days, it's a bit of nostalgia.
At the station, I met with Arne Friedrich, the Euro 2024 ambassador, and I wished him a happy birthday. I also expressed my respect for the fact that he came from another country to Ukraine at such a difficult time for us, and on such a significant day for him.
We all understand that the European Championship is a big tournament where we need to show our best game. Through such tournaments, we can give a lot of emotions to our fans and our military, who are defending our country. We need to prepare for the competition with great responsibility, and I think we will succeed with the help of friendly matches," Zinchenko said.
