Head coach of Lviv "Rukh" Vitaliy Ponomaryov, summarising the results of the season-2023/24, separately dwelled on the two matches with Dynamo Kyiv (0:2, 1:2).
"I can't say that we were significantly inferior to Dynamo in terms of play, but in the second match we made very gross mistakes, which led to a negative result. "Dynamo" is one of the giants of our football, a more experienced team, so it does not forgive such things. If in the games with other opponents we also had gross mistakes, given the experience of "Rukh", they did not punish us for them as Dynamo did.
Considering that we were very close to the European cups, the defeat from Dynamo in the final round, of course, had a little impact on the guys. After the game, I thanked them for the season and said: if we did not get there, it is a sign that we need to work even harder, more persistent. To really grow good, quality players and create an even stronger team, which will be able to enter the Euro arena and look worthy. Meanwhile, it was a test for Ruch," Ponomariov said.
