Vinicius Junior breaks Lionel Messi's Champions League record

Real Madrid winger Vinicius Junior scored the winning goal in the Champions League final match of the 2023/24 season against Borussia Dortmund (2-0).

At the time of the final, the Brazilian was 23 years and 325 days old. He previously scored in the Champions League final in the 2021/22 season against Liverpool (1-0). According to Opta, Vinicius became the youngest player to score in two Champions League finals.

The previous record was held by Lionel Messi, who scored in both finals against Manchester United in 2008/09 and 2010/11. At the time of the 2011 final in London, Messi was 23 years and 338 days old.
