Mykola Shaparenko: "I think we have fulfilled the set-up for the game"

Ukraine midfielder Mykola Shaparenko commented on the draw in the friendly match against Germany on MEGOGO.

- Nikolay, what are your impressions of the match?

- It was a very tough game, Germany is a very strong team. They have strong players individually, and it was difficult to play against them. We played with 5 defenders to prevent them from having space. We tried to cover the opponent in our own half of the field.

- Ukraine had some dangerous counterattacks, but what was missing for the final blow?

- Indeed, there were good counter-attacks, the wingers ran forward well, but somewhere there was not enough accurate passing or a shot. We will work, we still have time to prepare for Euro 2024. I hope everything will be fine.

- What was the coaching staff's plan for the game and did you manage to implement it to the fullest?

- I think so, yes, we did. In principle, we moved well, acted compactly. I think we fulfilled the set-up for the game.

- Was today a good warm-up for the European Championship?

- We still have two friendly matches ahead of us, and we need to work as hard as possible every day to approach the Euros in very good shape. I feel good, I really want to play in the European Championship.
