Atalanta and Italian national team defender Giorgio Scalvini has successfully undergone knee surgery, according to the official website of La Dea.
The central defender suffered a knee injury during the last match of the Serie A season, where Atalanta was defeated by Fiorentina (2-3).
The injury has ruled Scalvini out of the Italian national team for Euro 2024 and he is expected to be out of action for more than six months. Giorgio immediately began rehabilitation and treatment for a full recovery, but it is unlikely that the defender will return to the field before 2025.
