Head coach of Lviv Karpaty Myron Markevych assessed the actions of the Ukrainian national team in the friendly matches against Germany (0:0) and Poland (1:3).
"Since the head coach is responsible for the final result, it is his prerogative, in what composition will play the national team led by him. Especially since we are talking about friendlies, in which you can see who is really worth what. Therefore, the fact that Sergei Rebrov completely changed the starting lineup in the sparring with the Poles did not surprise me.
Another thing is that there is no certainty with tactical structures, first of all, with the organization of offensive operations. Perhaps, some specifics will appear after the last control match - with the team of Moldova. Because the game from defense can be relevant in the final match of the group round - with the Belgians, and in the first games - with the Romanians and Slovaks we need to win, and for this we need to have a clear plan.
I hope that in the sparring with Moldova there will be no injuries, and Vitali Mykolenko will have time to return the fighting form. For me, only the position of the left defender raises questions. However, in my opinion, Oleksandr Zinchenko is more important for the national team in the middle of the field," said Markevych.
