Volodymyr Sharan: "Buyalsky is a handsome man at Dynamo, but there are stronger players in the national team in his place"

Famous Ukrainian coach Volodymyr Sharan shared his vision of the reasons why some players of Dynamo Kyiv were not included in the Ukrainian national team's application for Euro 2024.

Denys Popov

- Denys is a tough defender, but the national team tries to build the game through the build-up. And Popov is less suitable for this than, for example, Zabarnyi and Bondar. But with Poland, we saw what a problem we have with standards. Denis plays well in this aspect. He has another disadvantage - you can expect aggressive and unjustified actions from him. Taloverov has the same problem, but he is a tall player and, perhaps, that's why he has no alternative. And Popov could be taken instead of Bondar. It's 50/50 here.

Vitalii Buyalskyi.

- Rebrov knows him better than all of us put together (Smiles). When I was setting up the players for Dynamo, I emphasized Buyalsky. Vitaliy is a handsome man at Dynamo, but the national team coaches don't see him. The fact is that there are stronger players in the national team in his place.

Vladyslav Kabaev.

- He has great speed, but if you take him, you need to unhook Yarmolenko.

Nazar Voloshyn

- The situation is the same as with Slyubik. He is still too young. Besides, we don't need any more wingers. Let the player first prove himself in the Olympic team, and then we can think about the national team.

Oleksandr Pikhalonok

- It's not so easy with him, because his competitors are Malinowski and Sudakov. But I think it also depends on his physical condition. Pikhalenok is recovering from an injury. If he was healthy and played all the time, we could say more, but the choice fell on others. For me, he is a great player.
