Belgium head coach Domenico Tedesco commented on the defeat of his team from Slovakia (0:1) in yesterday's match of the 1st round of the group stage of Euro 2024.
"Of course, the players are disappointed now. We prepared intensively for this match. The preparation went well. Today we just needed to score, then any problems were out of the question. We had a lot of chances, but we missed all of them. This is part of the game.
From the very beginning there was a feeling that we would lose. Unfortunately, it happened. I don`t know what to say to the team to make them better. We created a lot of chances. If we scored, things would have been easier.
We lost this match and it hurts because we didn't deserve it. The guys tried everything. There wasn't much that we could have done better today. But this conceded goal should have been avoided," Tedesco was quoted as saying by UEFA's official website
