Romania defender Andrei Burke commented on his team's victory over Ukraine (3:0) in yesterday's match of the 1st round of the group stage of Euro 2024 in Group E.

"It was a sensation. But we wanted to create it. Ever since we qualified for Euro 2024. People will judge us on our achievements in this tournament.

We are very happy, but we realize that this is just the beginning and there is a lot of work ahead. We really still have a lot of work to do, even though this is a really historic result. We know that we can play even better and achieve more. For now, our goal is to get out of the group. And we know what we need to do to achieve it.

I am glad that we managed to keep our goal intact. This is the result of the fact that we played very well in defense. And in general, in tactical terms, we played a very good game. I think, we have completely fulfilled the coach's instructions for this match. But, again, we still have work to do. Especially since this victory makes us raise the bar," said Burke on Pro TV.
