France's head coach Didier Deschamps commented on Kylian Mbappe's condition after a serious nose injury in the Euro 2024 match against Austria (1-0).
"Kylian underwent an additional examination on Wednesday. It was a big shock. The medical staff did everything necessary to minimize the consequences as much as possible.
Even if the operation is not done now, he will have to do it after the tournament. This morning he's feeling a little better, so we'll see. We will follow the developments closely," Goal quoted Deschamps as saying.
As RTL France reported on Tuesday, Mbappe is likely to be out of action for at least 15 days. Thus, the striker will not help the French national team to the quarterfinal stage of the Euros.
