News from the camp of Ukraine's rival in the group at Euro 2024. Personnel problems do not leave the national team of Belgium.
The main left wing defender of the Red Devils Artur Theate, who recently recovered from an ankle injury and was even included in the application for the opening match of the Euro with Slovakia, was again in the infirmary. On Tuesday, the 23-year-old footballer had to end his national team's training session early: at some point he stopped in the middle of the training session, grabbing the muscles of the back of his thigh.
Also its midfielder Axel Witsel is not training with the Belgian national team yet: he is working on an individual program, and not on the soccer field, but in the gym.
At the same time, on Sunday, the Red Devils will receive reinforcements in the form of defender Thomas Meunier, who in early June suffered a muscle injury in a friendly match with Luxembourg and did not go with his national team to the European Championship.
"It's good news for Meunier not only as a soccer player but just as a person. He worked hard to be here. We are very happy that the injury was not as serious as we feared. To be honest, after the match with Luxembourg I thought that Meunier will not play at the Euro," - commented on the return of the defender of the Belgian national team its head coach Domenico Tedesco.
We should add that yesterday the Belgian national team had a full day off - on this day the team did not train. Tomorrow the Red Devils will play Slovakia, and the Belgians will close their performance in the group stage of Euro 2024 with a match against Ukraine.
