Exactly a week before the end of the contract between the head coach of Chornomorets Odessa Roman Grigorchuk and his current club there was information about the alleged alliance of this specialist with Baku-based Neftchi.
Neftchi press officer Emin Efend refrained from any comments on this topic, but from other sources in Azerbaijani soccer it was learned that the contact between the Ukrainian specialist and interested parties, during which the details of the contract were discussed, did take place. Whether it was a preliminary dialog between the parties or the contract has already been concluded, as some websites hastened to write, is still unknown.
Meanwhile, Grigorchuk himself is in Odessa, where during the previous few days, preceding today's departure of his current team from vacation, he carefully watched young reserves from Chornomorets U-19. Odessa fans found the explanation in their own way: the coach is finishing his contract until the end, while waiting for a decision on his future with an offer to extend it.
In the coaching career of 59-year-old Grigorchuk has already had a period of work in Azerbaijan: in early 2015, the Ukrainian specialist took charge of Gabala, where he worked for three and a half years.
