Oleg Fedorchuk: "It's been a long time since I've seen someone act so well against de Bruyne as Brazhko did"

Famous Ukrainian coach Oleh Fedorchuk evaluated the performances of each player of the Ukrainian national team at Euro 2024.

Oleg Fedorchuk

"Trubin is one of the best. A blow to Lunin's career"

Anatolii Trubin (Benfica, Portugal)

At Euro 2024: 2 matches (180 minutes), 1 conceded goal, 1 match "zero"

Expert rating: 7.5

- Not only I, but everyone involved in football realized that Rebrov and his team made a mistake by playing Andriy Lunin in the first match. Trubin, who got a place in the first team after Lunin's disastrous match against Romania, played very confidently in the tournament. "He has this talent - he is calm. And this is transmitted to the defenders.

In addition, Lunin hardly ever played with these defenders, and Trubin knows them from not only the national team, but also the youth team, the national team and Shakhtar. As for me, Trubin is one of the best in our Euro team.

Andriy Lunin (Real Madrid, Spain)

At Euro 2024: 1 match (90 minutes), 3 goals conceded

Expert rating: 5.5

- Andriy admitted that he made a mistake in the game against Romania. And it's a shame, because he's not doing very well at Real Madrid right now. I think it's a blow to his career. However, Lunin is a strong-willed guy, and if he was able to play in Madrid, he will cope here. The score is 5.5, because in addition to mistakes, he also made saves. In that match, we could have conceded more.

"I was pleased with Tymchyk. Zabarnyi is at his level, and Matvienko 'made efforts' to fail."

Oleksandr Tymchyk (Dynamo Kyiv)

At Euro 2024: 3 matches (198 minutes), 0 goals, 0 assists

Expert rating: 7.0

- This is a player neither I, nor the press, nor the coaching staff counted on. But he came through. Tymchyk has never before played two games in a row so consistently, virtually without mistakes.

Yes, he made a few mistakes in the first half against Slovakia, but if the Transfermarkt website had watched those matches closely, Tymchyk's price would have doubled.

Mykola Matvienko (Shakhtar)

At Euro 2024: 3 matches (270 minutes), 0 goals, 0 assists

Expert rating: 6.0

- In the first game, not only he, but the entire defense looked terrible. The decisive goal for us was the first one, which, strictly speaking, was made by Matvienko. He chose a risky path when he passed to Lunin. This development of events was unexpected for us and convenient for the Romanians, after which they flew forward.

If this had not happened, then after a 1-1 draw in the control match with Liechtenstein, the Romanians would not have advanced. Therefore, I believe that such a quick goal broke all our plans. Matvienko's subsequent games were more confident, but you can feel that he is nervous.

Ilya Zabarnyi (Bournemouth, England)

At Euro 2024: 3 matches (270 minutes), 0 goals, 0 assists

Expert rating: 7.0

- He is the only player who played all three matches at his level. Almost no mistakes. In the last game, he even tried to play more aggressively in attack. In general, he left a pleasant impression.

Oleksandr Svatok (Dnipro-1 / Austin, USA)

At Euro 2024: 1 match (81 min), 0 goals, 0 assists

Expert rating: 6.5

- This is such a joker. He is not counted on, but he comes out: here, with England and Italy in the qualifiers, and does his job. We give Svatko his mark for adaptability. He is a warrior who is always ready. I believe that the tactical scheme with three central defenders should have been played from the very beginning.

Vitalii Mykolenko (Everton, England)

At Euro 2024: 1 match (58 min), 0 goals, 0 assists

Expert rating: 6.0

- It seems to me that he played on a strong-willed effort. First of all, Vitaliy did not finish the club season very well. He had some bad games and an injury. And although Mykolekno did not show his level in the match against Belgium, it adds to his respect from fans and experts. The only thing is that it was a rather serious injury, and it could affect his career at the club.

Yukhym Konoplya (Shakhtar)

At Euro 2024: 1 match (72 min), 0 goals, 0 assists

Expert rating: 5.0

- He was psychologically unprepared for the championship. The coaches made a substitution, and Oleksandr Tymchyk looked good against him. In general, Konoplya, like most Shakhtar players, was poorly prepared for Euro 2024. I don't know why, but it's striking.

Maxim Taloverov (LASK, Austria)

At Euro 2024: 1 match (1 min), 0 goals, 0 assists

Expert assessment: b/o

- He was brought in for the riding game. But he made mistakes in the control game against Poland. In addition, we had to win the match against the Slovaks, so we didn't need the services of defender Taloverov.

"Sudakov is the disappointment of the championship"

Volodymyr Brazhko (Dynamo Kyiv)

At Euro 2024: 3 matches (183 minutes), 0 goals, 0 assists

Expert rating: 7.0

- In my opinion, the coaching staff made two personnel mistakes at this Euro. The first was with Lunin, and the second was that Stepanenko started as the main player, not Brazhko.

Taras was not very confident in his last match at Shakhtar, suffering from an injury, while Brazhko looked very powerful at Dynamo and, in my opinion, was one of the best players in the Ukrainian championship.

It was unacceptable to ignore his condition. Subsequently, the coaching staff changed their minds, and Volodymyr became one of the few Ukrainians who improved his price on the transfer market. I think he has a good chance of playing in the Premier League, I haven't seen anyone do so well against De Bruyne for a long time.

Mykola Shaparenko (Dynamo Kyiv)

At Euro 2024: 3 matches (223 minutes), 1 goal, 1 assist

Expert rating: 7.0

- This is a guy who does not look like an athlete, a fighter. However, he recovered from a serious injury and was the leader of the national team, playing at Euro 2024 according to his capabilities. Everyone expected that Sudakov would be the first fiddle in the national team, but Shaparenko and Brazhko were a pleasant surprise.

Heorhii Sudakov (Shakhtar)

At Euro 2024: 3 matches (263 minutes), 0 goals, 0 assists

Expert rating: 7.0

- What a disappointment of the championship. Not because Sudakov is weak. The last 20 minutes against Belgium were very good. But he and Dovbyk were counted on as leaders, as locomotives that would pull the team forward.

I think that the injury Sudakov suffered at the end of the season at the club (he missed the Ukrainian Cup final because of it), as well as the player's reassessment, had an impact. Shakhtar and the media slightly overestimated the player's expectations, and it showed.

Andriy Yarmolenko (Dynamo Kyiv)

At Euro 2024: 3 matches (103 minutes), 0 goals, 0 assists

Expert rating: 6.5

- He is one of the leaders of the national team. I think this guy plays a key role in the microclimate of the national team. This is Serhii Rebrov's first experience with the national team, so he needs such experienced players.

Yes, Yarmolenko can't stand to play more than 30 minutes anymore, but he capitalizes on his skills when he comes on. It's already hard for him and it's a shame that his career in the national team is likely to end on such a minor note.

Mykhailo Mudryk (Chelsea, England)

At Euro 2024: 2 matches (176 minutes), 0 goals, 0 assists

Expert rating: 6.0

- He played the match against Slovakia very confidently, he was one of the best. And if not for this mysterious injury, which is rumored to have been the player's fault... But still, Mudryk needs to grow up and play more for the team.

Yes, he works hard, he is progressing, but he is only improving individually. At the Euros, there were many moments when he could have played for his partners, but he played for himself. In general, Mudryk is very active and visible, but not very productive. He remains the leading player of the national team, but he has to learn from his idol Cristiano Ronaldo how to be a leader of the national team.

Ruslan Malinowski (Genoa, Italy)

At Euro 2024: 3 matches (32 min), 0 goals, 0 assists

Expert rating: 6.0

- In the final game, thanks to him, we started to have an advantage at the end of the match. Yes, it was difficult for him, but the match against Belgium showed that Malinowski undeservedly played little in this tournament. There is one "but" here: since Sudakov, Shaparenko and Malinowski are similar in their style of play, putting them all on the field at the same time is not an option.

Sergiy Sydorchuk (Westerlo, Belgium)

At Euro 2024: 1 match (5 min), 0 goals, 0 assists

Expert assessment: b/o

- Sergiy's appearance on the field is a purely technical substitution. It's a mystery to me why he was released in the match against Slovakia (2:1). We started to hold on to the result, and it was easier for them to score than for the Belgians (if Ukraine had won 3-1, it would have beaten Slovakia and finished third in the group).

Taras Stepanenko (Shakhtar)

At Euro 2024: 2 matches (82 min), 0 goals, 0 assists

Expert rating: 6.5

-He deserves respect, but his condition is not enough to compete with fast players. An illustrative moment was at the end of the game against Belgium, when Taras first lost a rebound, and then one of the Belgians broke away from him by 20 meters.

Stepanenko was not a very fast player before, and now his speed and endurance are not at a very high level. This is one of the failures of his career, but what can you do, that's life.

Viktor Tsygankov (Girona, Spain)

At Euro 2024: 1 match (82 min), 0 goals, 0 assists

Expert rating: 6.5

- Viktor is a very risky player. At Girona, he was often changed, given time to adapt. There are players who often get injured. This is a feature of Tsygankov. Oleh Venglynskyi used to be like that. In Dnipro, everyone went to church so that he wouldn't say: "I can't." Oleh was either fabulous or injured.

Tsygankov is one of the disappointments of the championship, because he was counted on as one of the leaders of the national team. The score is 6.5, because there were still some good moments.

"Yaremchuk is like Shaqiri. Dovbyk did not add any arguments to the buyers"

Roman Yaremchuk (Brugge, Belgium / Valencia, Spain)

At Euro 2024: 3 matches (263 minutes), 1 goal, 0 assists

Expert rating: 7.0

- At the Euros, there are two players who have problems at the club but are spectacular in the national team. The Swiss have their leader Xherdan Shaqiri, and we have Roman Yaremchuk. He deserves compliments and respect, because Roman was counted on as a substitute player.

Instead, he played brightly, scored on time in the game against the Slovaks and outplayed Woute Fas in the first half of the match against Belgium. Yaremchuk looked brighter than Dovbyk. It is a pity that Roman lacks practice at the club. We give him 7.0 with huge pluses.

Artem Dovbyk (Girona, Spain)

At Euro 2024: 3 matches (247 minutes), 0 goals, 0 assists

Expert rating: 6.5

- This is a big disappointment, because he scored a lot in Spain (24 goals in 39 matches for Girona), all the media talked about him and expected a good game. As a result, we did not wait. The thing is that at Girona, Artem plays only in the penalty area, and here he had to run a lot. So he lacked his freshness. Also, his teammate Viktor Tsygankov, with whom Artem has developed a good understanding, played little in the tournament. I expected that our opponents would be "torn apart" by the well-established Sudakov-Mudryk and Tsygankov-Dovbyk lineups, but it didn't happen.

In addition, everyone studied Dovbyk before the championship. If you watch the matches carefully, you can see that the defenders worked hard on him. In general, this championship did not add arguments for his potential buyers.

Vladyslav Vanat (Dynamo Kyiv)

At Euro 2024: 1 match (10 min), 0 goals, 0 assists

Expert assessment: b/o

- Vanat had a poor start to the game, did not know where to stand or where to run. In this regard, there were several comic episodes. Once we had a sharp moment, and Vladyslav was in the wrong place - right on the Belgian goal line. Vanat also often duplicated Dovbyk's actions, confusing the areas where to move.

But few people would have played well in his place. Vanat did not take sufficient part in the friendly matches before the championship (14 minutes in the match against Poland). In addition, the guy was released "on fire" when it was necessary to save the situation. Also, no one plays two forwards here: neither Dynamo nor Shakhtar. Hence, these difficulties of mutual understanding and certain moments with tactical overlaps.

Странно, но как можно сказать что Судаков провалился и поставить ему семь, вторую самую высокую оценку в сборной? По остальным участникам вопросов нет, со всем согласен.
