England head coach Gareth Southgate commented on the victory in the Euro 2024 1/8 finals match against Slovakia (2-1, extra time).
"I am very proud of the players and the character they showed today. All the guys who came on the field played their part and helped us move on. These players always inspire each other and help each other, as they did today, and it paid off.
I didn't feel that tonight would be the end of our journey to the Euros. I know it sounds ridiculous now, but we were pushing," Southgate was quoted as saying by the BBC.
