July 3. Today is 75 years since the birth of Viktor Kolotov

Today is a significant day for Dynamo Kyiv fans with a long history. And all because today the legendary footballer of the Bilo-Syni could celebrate his birthday, Viktor Kolotov:

Viktor Kolotov

Viktor Kolotov (1949-2000) was a former soccer player who played at the position of midfielder. His professional career began in 1967 with the club "Chaika" from Zelenodolsk, from where a year later he moved to Kazan "Labor Reserves". In his new team Kolotov did not stay long, as he was noticed by the more prominent "Rubin" from the same Kazan.

After staying in the Kazan camp for two years, Viktor Mikhailovich moved to Kiev, where he began to defend the colors of Dynamo. It is with this club are associated with all the professional successes Kolotov. Six championships of the Soviet Union, two national cups, the Cup Winners' Cup (pictured), as well as the UEFA Super Cup. Seven times Kolotov was included in the List of the 33 best players of the season in the USSR, five of which was in first place. As part of the USSR national team, Viktor Mikhailovich took second place at the 1972 European Championship, and twice took Olympic bronze (1972 and 1976).

After finishing his career as a soccer player, Kolotov took up coaching. Kolotov worked as an assistant head coach at his native Dynamo, and also headed Kyiv Borisfen, Prykarpattya from Ivano-Frankivsk and the Ukrainian Olympic team.

In January 2000, Viktor Mikhailovich died of a heart attack.
