Dnipro-1 midfielder confirms that the club has 11-12 players left

Dnipro-1 midfielder Maksym Tretyakov spoke about the difficult situation at his club, whose existence is in question.

Maxim Tretyakov

- Maxim, how are you?

- It seems to be fine. Until the team gets together, I'm slowly training individually.

- Where are you training?

- I am here in Dnipro. So I come to our country base in Prydniprovsk. First, I go to the gym, then jog around the field and do some ball work. Let's just say I keep fit.

- On July 1, Dnipro-1 was scheduled to return from vacation. Did the team get together?

- No, we were not going to. There was an official announcement that the team's training camp was postponed to July 8.

- How and from whom did you find out about the postponement of the training camp?

- Our team has a chat room to communicate with each other. In this group, it was written that the team's training camp was postponed for a week. That's all.

- How many players are left in Dnipro-1 now?

- I don't even know. I think not too many. But you can count for yourself if you exclude those who have already officially left Dnipro-1.

- They say that there are about 11-12 players left?

- It is somewhat true.

- Have you been told anything about the repayment of the debt?

- At the moment, no. The information was only about when we were going to meet. Probably, on the 8th we will be told something about it.

- What do you expect? What will happen to the team?

- There are different options. At least, I'm considering different situations. Maybe a transfer, or maybe they will just give me my contract documents. Currently, I have offers from three UPL clubs. But I still have a valid contract with Dnipro-1, so I will act according to the situation. If Dnipro-1 ceases to exist, I will have to go to another club. If it survives, I will stay here.

- Do you have a desire to stay at Dnipro-1?

- Of course I do. I had high hopes for this season associated with Dnipro-1. Last season I missed a lot of it because of an injury, and then I recovered for a long time.

- In the 2015/16 season, you witnessed how FC Dnipro began to fall apart. Were you personally paid off then?

- Yes, I witnessed that situation back in Dnipro. I forgave that debt to the Dnipro FC team. It was when I joined Chornomorets.

- How many months did you owe?

- I think it was four. That season, I had a unique situation. From Dnipro I went on loan to Metalist. And there were also financial problems there. So, if I'm not mistaken, I was owed four salaries by Dnipro and five by Metalist.

It seems to me that I broke the record for non-payment in the UPL. I worked for free for almost the entire 2015/16 season. But at that time, when I didn't have a family and children, I took it calmly. At that time, I just wanted to play football at the level of UPL clubs.

- Some say that the delay in payments at Dnipro-1 has now reached four months?

- Give or take, somewhere around that.
