Former Manchester United head coach Alex Ferguson commented on the information about Cristiano Ronaldo's desire to play at the 2026 World Cup.

"I can't imagine Ronaldo playing at the 2026 World Cup. In the coming years, football will become even faster and physically stronger, and there will be less and less space for attacks. Unlike defenders, it is becoming more difficult for ageing strikers to play at the highest level.

Winning one or two more titles won't matter much to Ronaldo. He has already had an exceptional career," Ferguson was quoted as saying by Bild.
