The head coach of Dynamo Kyiv, Oleksandr Shovkovskyi, commented on the latest terrorist attack on Ukraine by Russian invaders on July 8 and expressed his support for Ukrainians:
- "First of all, I want to express my support to all those who have suffered from the barbaric attack by Russia today. It is difficult to find the right words to express the horror of what has happened.
Today, the team has arrived at its training facility in Austria, where it will prepare for the Champions League qualifiers. We have already had our first training session, but it was very special because all the guys were in Kyiv in their thoughts, together with all Kyiv residents, Ukrainians. What's happening now - the hits to Okhmatdyt, residential areas, houses, hospitals... it's hard to find words to describe the pain such events cause.
But we all understand that our country, our nation, has been fighting for independence all its life, and for many years it has had external enemies, neighbors who have not allowed us to live in peace and build our country. And now it continues. But we survived then, and we will survive now and in the future. We will do everything possible to make our country prosperous, because it is home to people who know the value of freedom and invincibility.
I would like to once again express the words of support from the entire team to the Ukrainians: we are with you, even though we are abroad and preparing for our tasks. But we are rooting for our countrymen and all our thoughts are with Ukrainians.
